Insurance company Svedea is an underdog in an industry dominated by giants. The business model is to take market shares from the large generalists by specializing in certain niche insurances rather than mastering everything. With in-depth expertise and a genuine passion for the niche, they can deliver an insurance product perfectly tailored to the reality of those active in the niche. Dog insurance, motorcycle insurance, and snowmobile insurance are some examples of niches where Svedea is best in class. Another idea is to compete on price by avoiding very expensive insurance objects and sparing the insurance collective from the cost.
Topdog’s Assignment
Svedea wanted to appear at the top for value-driving Google searches within their specialty niches. Concretely, this was to be achieved through an effectively executed SEO project. Topdog has carried out two different assignments over time: partly to search engine optimize Svedea’s commercial landing pages to get them to rank in the search engine, and partly to develop broad and informative knowledge content within Svedea’s specialty areas. The purpose of this content was both to serve as a resource for Svedea’s existing and prospective customers, and to achieve a “critical SEO mass” on the site as support for getting the commercial landing pages to rank in Google.
Topdog’s Solution
Before Svedea’s SEO initiative was launched, Topdog developed requirements specifications, strategies, and plans according to Topdog’s established process for SEO and digital marketing. With the project goals anchored in company management, Topdog then helped implement the changes in collaboration with Svedea’s own organization. Is it possible for David to defeat Goliath in competitive digital niches? Yes, with expert knowledge and process-driven work it can be done.
