Anticimex needed to strengthen its local search presence in the markets of Norway, Denmark and Spain. Topdog was tasked with planning local SEO content and ensuring that the technology met all SEO requirements.

Lösning

Topdog developed a careful planning of the SEO content for local implementation, in the different languages, and provided project management and follow-up of Google rankings during the project's execution. We also ensured that all technology was SEO-proof.

Topdog’s Client

Anticimex literally means “against bedbugs,” and that is also where this well-renowned company had its beginnings – in the fight against bedbugs in 1930s Sweden. EQT-owned Anticimex is today an international group with approximately 7,000 employees in 19 countries, operating not only in pest control but also in areas such as food safety, dehumidification, fire protection, and home inspection. In line with current trends, Anticimex is in the 2020s working to introduce more sustainable methods, for example through sensor-controlled rat traps without pesticides and bird control using sound and light.

Topdog’s Assignment

Anticimex wanted to strengthen their presence in local searches in Norway, Denmark, and Spain – that is, searches relating to Anticimex services combined with a specific location, for example “skadedyrsbekæmpelse københavn” or “control de plagas madrid.” Local search is one of the major growth areas in Google’s search engine in recent years, and with its explicitly commercial nature, local search drives large revenue streams to local businesses. The SEO project consisted partly of implementing SEO-secured technology for the sites, and partly of ensuring that Anticimex’s local organization produced content that performed well in Google, in the various languages.

Topdog’s Solution

The project was carried out in collaboration with Anticimex’s global organization at the relevant local offices in Norway, Denmark, and Spain. Topdog had overall responsibility for the project and outlined the technical changes that needed to be implemented to achieve maximum SEO impact. We also developed a detailed plan for SEO content that the local organization could produce using their detailed knowledge of the business. With technology and planning in place, and with the project’s objectives anchored in company management, Topdog was also responsible for project management during implementation and for monitoring the rankings of the local pages for selected commercial search phrases.
